Tech Solutions for Small Nonprofits

Here are her best tips for small to midsize nonprofits seeking the best tech solutions to fit their challenges—and particular budgets.

  1. Always look for nonprofit discounts or free versions of apps or software. Sometimes you have to dig a bit to find them. If the product you like doesn’t offer a discount, reach out to them and ask directly or check out their competition.

  2. Think about your pain points. What do you do repetitively? What do you have trouble keeping track of? What takes up a big chunk of your time? There is probably an app for that! Ask others for recommendations as you do an internet search to see what is available.

  3. Don’t be afraid to try new technology! Many products have a free trial or introductory package. And every app has oodles of YouTube instructional videos and support teams. Yes, there may be a learning curve, so take the time to learn what you can before you begin. The more you understand the options, settings and preferences, the easier it will be for you to get the most out of it.
