His primary concentration at The Stelter Company is overseeing Stelter’s consulting team, and using his expertise and experience to strategize with Stelter’s key accounts to develop distinct marketing solutions that meet each nonprofit’s unique planned giving needs. 

Nathan presents at numerous regional and national fundraising conferences. He is a past board member of the National Capital Gift Planning Council in Washington, DC and current member of the Mid-Iowa Planned Giving Council.


1.       Know your audience. Nonprofits need to think strategically about what motivates their constituents, and how their constituents’ goals fit with the organization’s goals.

2.      Utilize multiple channels, and don’t make assumptions about which channel your audience prefers.

3.      Take a holistic, unified approach in fundraising messaging.
