We chat with Ashley Lopez Anguiano, Manager of Signature Events at Children’s Mercy Hospital about how event planning continues to evolve in a world where Covid lingers.
Here are some highlights of our conversation:
Identify Your Goals & Use Them as a RoadMap. It sounds simple, but if you always return to this basic principle, it will help you stay on track and make choices regarding how you’ll structure your event, what components to keep and what to let go.
Stick to a Timeline. Give yourself deadlines for making final decisions and moving ahead. This alleviates time spent procrastinating and keeps everyone moving at the same pace.
Overcommunicate. Be crystal clear with your team, your vendors and your audience. Anticipate that there will be last-minute changes and build managing them into your schedule. Have a thorough communications plan for your guests so they feel comfortable—and excited—about joining you for your event.
