With 40-plus years in marketing communications, Bob brings a well-rounded and well-grounded perspective to planning, implementing and assessing the effectiveness of communication efforts.
Bob launched his career at Hallmark Cards before moving to the agency side where he continued to work with some of the leading marketers in the Midwest while honing his direct marketing skills. He established Merrigan & Co. in 1990, and some of the agency’s earliest clients—such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars—continue to work with the firm today.
Bob is active in the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Nonprofit Connect and is a frequent presenter/author on copywriting/marketing as well as analytics for both digital and direct mail efforts. He’s also very involved in the community and has held leadership positions with a number of volunteer-run benefit events (Forks & Corks and Chefs Classic for Harvesters—The Community Food Network and KC Games for Good for the KC Plaza Rotary). Bob is past president of Kansas City Direct Marketing Association, American Marketing Association and Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club.
